App Updates

I've been pretty busy this week and have updated a couple of my apps.

Subway Subcard App -

This has been updated to work with phones with smaller screen sizes. Next update for this will be an offline mode which will mean the app will still work if no phone signal is present in your local Subway.

Tesco ClubCard App-

An update to this app has fixed the issue with ClubCard points not being shown since Tesco made changes to their website. However in order to display points you need to enter your Tesco account username and password as well as having your Clubcard linked to this account.
To register on the Tesco website and link your card to the account go to https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/myaccount/home.aspx. Basically once you can view your points online using that link, the balance display on the ClubCard app will work.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any issues with any of the two apps since the update. You can email me at stecooper@gmail.com and I will always reply to all emails within a few hours.

Coming on Saturday will be some news on my Football Push Scores app and perhaps an update on another app I have recently starting doing some work on called Ashes Alarm Clock.

Push Scores Updated

Push Scores was updated on Saturday night to include the following leagues:

Championship
League One
League Two
SPL

However the update to the backend application server had a small bug which stopped goal updates being sent for subscribers to "All League Updates" for any league except SPL. SPL league subscribers would have recieved updates for all leagues.

This has now been fixed, no update is required for the app.

Tesco App points problem

You may have noticed that in the last few days my Tesco Clubcard app has stopped displayed the points balance for a your clubcard.

This is because of a change in Tesco website of the page I used to get the points balance, I am working on an alternative way to get the balance and hope to release an update fixing this soon.

I hope it will still work with just postcode and clubcard number but it may be necessary for you to enter your Tesco username and password to get the balance.

Thanks for your patience while I get this fixed.

Android Football Push Scores Beta released

I have today released the Beta version of my Football Push Scores app for Android. This builds on the previous LFC Push Scores and now features all 20 Premier League teams.

Football Push Scores pushes goal alerts, half and full time scores for the team of your choice to your phone via Android's Cloud 2 Device Messaging..

It doesn't work like some apps where it runs in the background checking the server every 10 mins. The alert is pushed to your phone using C2DM. This means that you get alert instantly, don't need a background service running and don't need your Internet usage taken up by the App checking for updates every 5 minutes.

The alert shows itself in a notification at the top of the screen e.g. "GOAL Liverpool 2 - 0 Man United (Torres)" and you can click on the notification to run the app and show the full text as well as the last 20 alerts received. Some alerts can also include a link to a web site with extra information.

It requires the following:

Android 2.2 / Froyo
A Google account e.g. Gmail email registered to you phone.

Coming soon I hope to add SPL and Football League teams and add news updates taken from BBC Sport.
